Jim was an intelligent, honest and clever boy.One day he was roaming on the street,he met his friends Susan and Raman who were too talkative alcoholists. That day also they had drunk and were laughing each other. They were talking about their fathers. The topic was “whose father was the greatest”.
Susan : - Hey listen to me! My father’s nose is so long that he can touch the moon easily with his nose from here.He is great!
Raman : - Hey,hey, what do you think about your father?? That’s nothing.Listen, my father’s eyes are so big and strong that he can watch the every activities happened on the surface of the moon from here!! My father is greater then yours!!!
Jim was listening their stupid debate about their fathers and he thought to make both of them puzzle and said,
Jim : - Eyes and nose are absolutely nothing. My father is the greatest one because his head is so big that this earth is his head!! What do you think?? If you really want to see the head of my father you both have to go to moon and it is easy for you!!!
Susan and Raman : - How to go??!!
Jim : - You can make a ladder to go to the moon from the nose of the Susan’s father and use the eye of Raman’s father as a telescope to see from there!!!! And then you can see my father’s head??!! Easy!!!!
After then Susan and Raman were discussing about the matter that how has to go first to bring the nose or eyes of his father.
Jim was laughing!

Nepalese culture of wedding
Hi everybody, I’m very glad to see you again through this site. My first publication was only a test with my picture and I got some comments over that publication and due to the cause of which, now I’m forced to write few words over the title above, though I’m not a good writer or person concerned with litrature. The main objectives is to provide some information related to Nepalese wedding for those who are interested about Nepal and Nepalese peoples. Generally two kinds of marriages are there in Nepal, one is arrange marriage, which is totally based on the family’s interest and another is love marriage which is based on the personal interest of the candidates. I’m going to explain about the arrange marriage, today.
Legally, in the Nepal the candidates must be at least 18 years old to be married. When the candidates are ready to marry, I mean to say that from the view point of their age; first the parents have to think about them. There is always a person in our society who works for both boy and girl as a mediater. He is called LAMI in native language. First of all the LAMI conveys the messages to the families of both candidates and to creates an environment for the discussion between both families. The discussion is generally carried out in the girl’s house. The boy meets the girl and first they make the decision about the marriage. When they are ready to marry each other then their guardians make the final decision of wedding. In Nepal it is believed that the new relation of husband and wife should be matchable from the astrological point of view and so that is also carried out with an astrologist. Then the people from the boy’s side with his guardians go to the girl’s house for the final confirmation of marriage which is known as JANAI SUPARI in my language. In Janai Supari both boy and girl take TIKA(Tika is a mixture of non cooked rice with red color and cord, which is generally used in some religious programmes and some cultural programmes like wedding and others like this and Tika is worn in forehead). It is believed that after Janai Supari the girl can’t marry with any other boy because she is already reserved for some body but I think this is absolutely stupid mentality in this age of 21 century and this kind of mentality is found only in some conservative persons of the society, now a days. After the Janai Supari, the final date of marriage is fixed, suitable for both boy and girl’s side. And then the invitation cards are printed for all the relatives to send. And then at the day of wedding the boy goes to the house of the girl with his all the relatives and friends being a large group, which is known as JANTI. When the JANTI reach the house of the girl, all the relatives and persons concerned with the girl welcome to the JANTI with the DULAHA (The boy on the day of his marriage is known as DULAHA and the girl is DULAHI on her marriage in my culture). After all the formalities and responsibilities both girl and boy promise to share their life with each other. Some time it takes 2 hours to 12 hours to fulfill all the formalities between boy and girl. And then the DULAHI is taken to the boy’s house. After that day they become husband and wife legally and socially. In this way the wedding programme is finished.
There are various other activities to be mentioned in this article but because of some difficulties I couldn’t mention these all I just say sorry for that. If it is possible I’ll try to give detailed information about the wedding in my society.
At last I would like to express too many thanks to the computer teacher Greet for her kind help and others to access this weblog.
Thanking all of you,
Sanjay Kumar K.C.
